Themed Ipsum Generator
Generate themed placeholder text — hipster, corporate, tech, pirate, or bacon — by paragraphs, sentences, or words, entirely on this device.
Do it offline:$ npx lorem-ipsum 3 paragraphs
How to use it
- Choose a theme — hipster leads, then corporate, tech, pirate, or bacon. Every word in the result is drawn from that theme's own vocabulary.
- Set the unit and the count: up to 200 paragraphs, 1,000 sentences, or 10,000 words. Each unit shows its allowed range beneath the field.
- Pick plain text, HTML, or Markdown. Changing the format re-wraps the words already on screen — it never draws a new passage.
- Press Generate, or ⌘/Ctrl + Enter, for a fresh seed. Raising the count keeps what you have and adds more onto the end.
- Copy the passage, download it as .txt, .html, or .md, or use Share to hand someone a link that rebuilds it exactly.
Fill a mockup with placeholder text that matches its voice: choose hipster, corporate, tech, pirate, or bacon, set paragraphs, sentences, or words, and the passage appears at once, built in your browser. Take it as plain text, HTML, or Markdown. Send the Share link and a teammate rebuilds the very same passage, because the seed travels inside it. Nothing you generate leaves this device.
How it works
Each theme is a fixed list of about eighty words. A seeded number generator walks that list in a rotating order and emits whole words, so the passage reads as themed vocabulary — not classic Latin, and not a shuffle that loops back on itself.
The seed alone decides the outcome: one theme, unit, count, and seed always rebuild the identical passage. Share tucks that seed into the link, so whoever opens it regenerates the same words locally and the text itself never travels.
Because every theme list is the same length, holding the seed and switching theme keeps the sentence and paragraph shape while it swaps only the words. Growing the count extends the current passage rather than drawing a different one.

Gotchas worth knowing
The seed rebuilds it anywhere
A passage is pinned by its seed, so the Share link reproduces it byte for byte on any machine. Each press of Generate rolls a new seed, so save the link before you move on.
Every word stays on theme
Choose bacon and you get only cured-meat words; choose tech and you get only engineering terms. Themes never blend — the result is pulled entirely from the one list you selected.
Themed filler is nonsense by design
The passages parody a house style; they are not real sentences and carry no meaning. Reach for them to size a layout, never as words you ship to a reader.
Latin letters stay left-to-right
Placeholder for a right-to-left mockup still needs Latin script. This pane is tagged left-to-right, so the words and their commas land where your real copy eventually will.
Common errors
Count must be a whole number of at least 1.- Zero, negative, and fractional counts are turned away with your settings left as they are; the guard runs because a restored Share link is treated like any other untrusted input.
Paragraphs are capped at 200 in this browser tool — for a larger classic-filler job, run: npx lorem-ipsum 200 paragraphs- Each unit caps where it can still respond instantly — 200 paragraphs, 1,000 sentences, 10,000 words. Above a cap the tool refuses rather than trimming and points to an npx command for the oversized job, though that command produces classic Latin, not themed words.
FAQ
What is hipster ipsum?
It is placeholder text assembled from hipster clichés — words such as artisan, kombucha, and vinyl — in place of the usual Latin. It gives a design the right flavor while staying plainly fake. This page opens on it and offers four more themes.
How do I get the same themed text again?
Save the Share link. It carries your theme, unit, and count along with the seed that produced the words on screen, so reopening it anywhere returns that exact passage. Generate rolls a fresh seed on every press, so copy the link before you press it again.
Can I use this as real website copy?
No. Every theme is deliberate nonsense meant to stand in for text while you lay a page out. Replace it with genuine copy before launch; a reader or a search engine should never meet the filler.
